Know The Genuine Fact Regarding The Teacup Pug

The small or the teacup pug is a little known kind of pugs.  Many folks do not believe that such a breed exists and that the teacup pug is merely a smaller version of a standard pug.  If you go into any pug forum people will tell you that they have spotted teacup pugs and they have a dissimilar appearance than the normal pug.  So is there truly a breed of pugs known as teacups? 

The Facts

Basically a teacup pug isn’t actually a thoroughbred of pugs; instead they’re actually half breeds.  It’s common to see a pug crossed with a Chihuahua and the appearance can be slightly amazing.  Essentially you would mistake one of these half breeds a just a smaller version of a pug.  The only semi noticeable difference being the length of the snout is a tad longer in a teacup pug then in a standard purebred. 

So is it safe to reproduce a pug with another dog like a Chihuahua?  The answer is a little yes and a little no.  Most of these teacup pugs need C sections.  One thing that could be beneficial for this kind of pug is the undeniable fact that they have a slightly longer snout which may scale back the chance possible breathing complications later on along the way.  This is a typical flaw in thoroughbred pugs. 

Although there might be some benefits of cross breeding pugs, there are usually more complications involved and it is not endorsed that folk should do so.  There’s a common term in dog society named  ‘designer dogs’.  These are dogs that are purposely cross bred to form new unique breeds that no one else will have.  This is one of the worst things that folks could do.  It isn’t safe to experiment in cross breeding dogs unless naturally you are a trained vet who can say what you do.

Basically there isn’t any tangible purebred of teacup pugs.  Everyone knows that there are plenty of different sorts of cross breeds out there and you could be mistaken if you see a teacup pug because often it’s probably simply an ordinary pug that is just a little smaller than common.  One of the things you might do is next time you come across a smaller compared to usual pug, ask the owner if it is in fact a teacup pug.  If they are saying yes then ask them what it is a cross of?  Most people will just tell you that it is thoroughbred but as you now know, there isn’t any such thing as a purebred teacup pug.
