If you feel you tried your best by using a collar or played games with him and he still barks, there’s another way to reduce his barking which is by training him entirely to stop barking.This training is all about shouting out a command “STOP” to stop your dog from barking.

The first step which you need to do is say the word “STOP” firmly while your dog is barking.Straight away praise your dog as soon as he stops barking by giving him an award and petting him.

If your dog doesn’t stop barking, ignore him for couple of minutes by walking to another room and return back to him by saying again the command again.If he stops barking, praise him but if he still keeps on  barking, ignore him again until he stops.This is a long process but eventually he will understand the command.

You should be persistent when using the command by not saying a different command such as “WAIT” or “BE QUIET” as this will confuse the dog and will not understand what to do.You should choose a command, which you prefer and stick to it.
