The Differing Kinds Of Puppy Training
Posted Under: Uncategorized
Most people aren’t even aware of the different sorts of training. The differing types of training are based for dogs at different stages.
Some dogs have had training before, while others had none. Due to this, it’s best that you know which sort of training to put your dog in.
The first kind of training is “basic dog training”. This kind of training can be for puppies or for adult dogs that have never received any type of instruction. This course teaches dogs to sit, stay, and come.
Basic training also emphasises socialization talents (especially for puppies). Good socialization skills teach your dog to get along with other dogs and folk.
If your dog has never had any kind of lessons, then it needs to start with the fundamentals. The subsequent type is intermediate lessons. This is not for puppies. Intermediate courses are for any adult dogs who have either been thru basic dog training or for dogs that have been trained the basics good enough by their owner.
Intermediate courses teach dogs to heel; walk proper on a leash, fetch and return, and it also goes over the basics of training in more detail (sit, stay, come, etc.).
Complicated dog training is the last kind available. Advanced lessons are only allowed for adult dogs who’ve taken at least one course before and they must have passed it also.
All the basic and intermediate aspects are gone over in great detail in the beginning. Then the course goes to teaching your dog to follow these commands with hand signals (come, stay, sit, heel, lie down, for example.)
Once the dog learns hand signals, the advance course then moves to teaching your dog to walk beside you without a leash and for the dog to remain beside you at all points. It also teaches your dog to pay attention to you and to avoid diversions.
This course is only for very well behaved dogs.
All these courses should exploit positive strengthening (praise and rewards). They shouldn’t use any negative training strategies (hitting or yelling). Make sure that you pick a dog training course that only uses positive reinforcement.
Also ensure that you choose the course that is right for your dog. With the right course, your dog can be well behaved, well adjusted, and really a pleasure to have!
